Silvia Traistaru, born in 1979, lives and works in Bucharest and Algarve, Portugal. She graduated from the "Nicolae Tonitza” School of Arts, Bucharest, and National University of Arts - Faculty of History and Art Theory, Department of Conservation and Restoration. She had a solo exhibition at Bucharest Financial Plaza, and has participated in several group exhibitions. The most recent was the Experimental course of contemporary art and exhibition ''Mobilehome´´, Portugal, curated by Nuno Faria. In 2010 she was selected as a finalist and a special prize winner for the 4th International Arte Laguna Prize (Painting Section) out of more than 7000 applications. In 2009, her work ´´My Mom at the Funeral'' saw her selected as a finalist in the international contest ''The Artist's Magazine 26th Annual Art Competition.'' Her works can be found in private collections in Romania, France, Italy, Germany, Holland, USA and Canada.
