European Atelier for Young Festival Managers 2009

The selection for the Second Edition of the Atelier has been made!

45 young, talented, pioneering, ambitious festival managers with the most outstanding variety of backgrounds (music, dance, theatre, visual arts, film, multidisciplinary…) from 30 countries will come together in Varna (Bulgaria) from 26 April to 3 May 2009 to share an exceptional experience.

The four Atelier mentors Bernard Faivre d’Arcier (former long-standing artistic director of the Avignon Festival), Rose Fenton (co-founder of LIFT, London International Festival of Theatre), Hugo De Greef (General Director of the Flagey and former Secretary General of EFA) and Nele Hertling (Director of the “Berlin Artist Program” of the DAAD) will guide participants throughout the week. They will be joined by a remarkable group of festival directors from all over the world (Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, UK, USA…) coming to Varna and sharing their experience.

The European Festivals Association (EFA), in co-operation with the Varna Summer – International Music Festival, the Municipality of Varna and in partnership with the Festival and Congress Centre, organises the 2nd edition of the European Atelier for Young Festival Managers!

Young festival managers from all over the world are invited to Varna (Bulgaria) to take part in this intense one-week course from 26 April – 3 May 2009. A group of 45 young festival managers meet for 7 days to work in small topical-based working groups, attend lectures and debates, learn from case studies and implement practical activities.
