REHEARSAL I: WITH-OUT-CON-TEXT (Exhibiton)

Connection anticipates a system of relations. The connection in question sometimes originates by itself; sometimes it is forged. Long criticized and protested in the art world, and considered by some as the points of resistance, the web of relations (curator, concept, the artist) or affiliations (with biennials, festivals, art fairs or art organizations) inevitably occur. With the physical or intellectual connection, even being in opposition, or siding with, or claims to independence lose their significance and yield to the already dominant position. As Foucault says, to develop a discourse by rejecting connection only brings one (or a position) closer to the power or the dominant position. The starting point of the exhibition, that is “With-out-Con-text,” contradicts itself right from the beginning and invites many situations of this kind. At this point, we take refuge in Nietzsche: the will to power. And we try to achieve this through language games that emerged along with conceptual art in the 1960s. But the problem is complicated and hard to solve by and in itself. Thus, the concept of “With-out-Con-text” is treated, from the perspective of 21st century, with a rehearsal exhibit, which attempts, through art works in parallel with the biennial, construct/deconstruct (in) dependence of any kind.
