Swiss-Balkan Cultural Exchange Projects (Deadline: 2 May 2011)

The Swiss Cultural Programme (SCP) in the Western Balkans aims to strengthen cultural ties between Switzerland and Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.

The Swiss Arts Council supports projects from the Western Balkans that involve Swiss artists and ensembles. Event organizers from the above-mentioned countries are invited to submit applications for support by 2 May 2011.

Local organisations can apply for funding for projects involving Swiss participants active in the fields of music, theatre, dance, visual arts and literature and cultural science. The goal is to foster cultural relations, strengthen existing ties and to create a network between artists and cultural actors from Switzerland and the Western Balkans.

To qualify for support, a project must be based on a relevant participation of Swiss artists. A financial contribution from local partners is a condition. Applications are to be submitted by the key partner coordinating the project. The project has to involve cultural actors from the region and/or be presented at least three times, preferably in more than just one country of the Western Balkans. Projects should start at the earliest in the autumn of 2011.
