CDA Projects Young / Fresh / Different Competition and Exhibition 2011

CDA Projects is organizing the exhibition titled Young / Fresh / Different in the month of June for the purpose of supporting young artists and curators. The works of the young artists and curators applying to this initiative, which is the first competition open to young curators in Turkey, will be evaluated by a jury, member of which are Başak Şenova, Yane Calovski and Stephane Ackermann The selected works will be exhibited in June by the selected curator at the CDA and CDA Projects galleries under the title Young / Fresh / Different – II.

Requirements for Application

- The exhibition is open to all disciplines.
- The applicants must be younger than 35 years of age as of January 1, 2011.
- Those who have applied and had their works exhibited in the Young / Fresh / Different exhibition in 2010 can not apply to this year's competition.

For the artists
The Presentation and Delivery of the Works to be Exhibited

- The applicant shall suggest only one work for the exhibition and must present a portfolio consisting of maximum 5 works of art.
- The work can only be presented on CD or DVD.
- The resume and contact information (phone, e-mail and address) must also be present on the same CD or DVD. (More than one CD’s or DVD’s can be submitted).
- The CD’s or DVD’s must have information regarding their content written on them and they must be submitted in an envelope on which "CDA Projects Young / Fresh / Different" is written.
- The final submission date is March 15, 2011. Applications that are completed after this date because of postal delays or any other reasons will not be accepted.
- Delivery address: CDA Projects Genç / Yeni / Farklı Sergisi İstiklal Caddesi Mısır Apt. No 163 Kat 3 D. 10 Beyoğlu İstanbul 34340.

For the curators
The Presentation and Delivery of the Documents

- The candidate must write a 300-500 word text stating his/her curatorial views. The text may be in Turkish or English.
- If the curator has worked previously on a project, he/she must present the concerning documentation. (this is not mandatory).
- The documents can only be presented on CD or DVD.
- The resume and contact information (phone, e-mail and address) must also be present on the same CD or DVD. (More than one CD’s or DVD’s can be submitted).
- The final submission date is March 15, 2011. Applications that are completed after this date because of postal delays or any other reasons will not be accepted.
- Delivery address: CDA Projects Genç / Yeni / Farklı Sergisi İstiklal Caddesi Mısır Apt. No 163 Kat 3 D. 10 Beyoğlu İstanbul 34340.
- The jury may require an interview with the selected curator on March 28 – April 02, if necessary. The candidate must be ready for this interview.
- The selected curator will also be responsible for the catalogue and press release of the exhibition.

Announcement

The jury will complete its evaluations until April 07, 2011 and announce the artists of the works it finds appropriate for exhibition as well as the curator. All artists applying to the exhibition will be informed concerning the results. The CD’s and DVD’s submitted will not be returned.

Applicants who are applying to the competition are deemed to have accepted all the terms in these specifications. The selected candidates shall be signing an agreement with CDA concerning the exhibition and their works in the exhibition.
