“Istanbul-Munich Trial Version 0.1”
Urban space is a collection and combination of Private Space and Public Space. Public or individual experiences / trials in a city takes place in such areas, on the other hand, everybody tries to define their own zones in the contemporary city. Starting from this point, it is important to ask these questions:
Where is public space / private space? Where does it start?
What is the boundary between them and who defines the boundary?
How can we / everyone can define the participation / sharing and distance to these areas?
Every individual experiences different kinds of environments / spaces in the lifetime. They try, like or dislike. Is it possible to look Istanbul and Munich with an alternative gaze?
So how we make ourselves visible in a city like Istanbul?
Considering that in a big city everyday seems as “trial version” of itself we entitled this process between two cities as “Istanbul-Münich Trial version 0.1 (the numbers are added according the numeric base of digital media)”.
Supposingly the trial version of the interactions between two cities and its habitants (us) could be seen as the pre-original document (because the program is not owned by anyone it is always written on screen trial version) without the ownership with utmost democratical ground within the basic daily experiments.
The daily experiments in two cities brings up the personal stands such as in today’s electronic language could be defined as: visible, unvisible, hiding, busy, avalaible... These definitions are expressions of the borderlines that one draws for the environment (either real or virtual) they stand, pass and inhabits during the day.
Within the process of this project we will question the borderlines of two cities and its inhabitants stands.
