“SPOILSPORT"

In this project, without considering the relation with the environment, just public sphere (city) was handled, that had been established just in line with the personal interests of the individuals. As the result of these egocentric conducts, we have been coinciding unplanned living spaces together with the unplanned city silhouette. Gradually increasing personal areas, decreases the common spaces neither more nor less. Consequently this accompanies a chaotic structure technique as well. These issues were documented by photographing and have been presented under the title “Spoilsport” through developed video technique.

Balat-İstanbul region was chosen as research and implementation area of the project. Data was taken from this region. The reason for choosing of this region is the location of Balat, it is one of the living townships of İstanbul with its architectural structure, churches and synagogues, tradesman, bath and market as well as socio-economic and cultural differences and diversities.

Regarding the contents of the video, production of slides, swings and similar devices/tools that should be implemented at the Children Game Parks, is included in the project as well.
