7000 Ruse, Bulgaria
For his third exhibition in Ruse, Bulgarian author Stefan Katzarov shows a diverse mix of works from different periods and mediums, on the theme of nature.
Stefan Katzarov experiences landscape in his unique way. He is part of the famous generation that brought Ruse upfront the intellectual life in Bulgaria in the mid 70-ties. "The way to the point of view is just as important as the work with the material itself. "Stefan Katzarov often draws the most abstract landscape, face to face with nature, after wandering in the bush for days in search of a synthesis between the physical effort, experience and thought.
His meditations are displayed in drawings and paintings, exposed in gallery "Friends".
The works cover a wide time range and show the artist’s searches over the past 20 years.
Born in 1937, Stefan Katszarov holds and MFA in Painting from the National School of Fine Arts in Sofia in 1967. Working in the field of landscape for many years, he is
one of the brightest representatives of Bulgarian painting in the delicate techniques of tempera and pastel.
