In fact here in Istanbul we are not that far from such conflict and abuse towards the artist and the curator. I have made a sculpture as part of n international sculpture sympozium at a private university in Istanbul. We have placed the sculptures produced accordingly and the next day they were removed by the order of the high management. They now stand side by side in the garden of the university while the students make drawings on them. If there is no 'authority' that protects the artwork and the curatorial decisions, then, we are bound to accept that those who manage the businesses/countries know art better then us.
