Response to Achim Sauters article 4/11/09 Collaborative Practice I agree, smaller non profit Institutions and spaces, Artist Initiatives and Art Production centres, allow the possibilities and spontaneity to create projects that act on political, social and cultural developments. They have the potential to initiate projects quickly without the restrictions that larger institutions place on artists and are more accessible being smaller and more flexible. I have a particular interest in very small often one or two –person initiatives that are not funded and as like most initiatives have a short life span. I would like to see a platform or organisation that would record, document and help promote these small unsupported initiatives. I also think collaboration is the way forward not only amongst artists, curators and cultural workers but as you suggest between initiatives and maybe questioning collective structures.
